Tauranga Woodcrafters Guild

Tolo takes great pleasure in introducing our November exhibitors: the esteemed Tauranga Woodcrafters Guild. The origins of this guild trace back to 1986 when Ken Sagar and Jack Bennett initiated the idea of establishing a woodworkers club in Tauranga. On the 17th of April 1987, the inaugural gathering took place at the St Johns Ambulance hall. Subsequent meetings convened at Lindsay Dunstan's packing shed on Cameron Road, then moved to Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in 1988, the Bible Chapel in Otumoetai, and finally settled in clubrooms at Pemberton Park. Recognizing the necessity for a dedicated space, construction commenced in 2014 for our current workshop located at 3 Cherokee Place, Mount Maunganui, which reached completion in May 2015.
